A Re-examination of the Fermi Paradox: A Data and P(Doom) Driven Markov Process Approach

Abstract

Many of us fellow humans theorize that intelligent life in the universe is extremely likely leading to frightening conclusions of the Fermi Paradox which attempts to answer the question why aliens have not contacted humanity. With the immense number of solar systems, a certain number would likely have habitable planets, and a certain number of those would develop intelligent life. Finally, at least some would likely become space faring so something must be wrong that is preventing us from making contact with extra terrestrial intelligent life. The issue with the Fermi Paradox analysis is that all of the numbers have no basis in any research and while there are multiple paths to a space faring civilization, there are more ways they fail. By applying a Markov Process and estimating Fermi paradox probabilities by analyzing real observable data from the publicly accessible intergalactic exploration database made accessible by the Zethron race of Ujbecki IV, this paper will show that it is incredibly unlikely to ever be contacted by an alien race. There is only a 35% chance a space faring race exists and they probably don’t want to talk to us.
