Abstract
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD has been known to be develop due to a grab bag of issues such as genetics, nutrition, environment and many more. I would say the environment I’m in is awfully conducive it’s been so cold lately. In this case study, we will observe the development of an intensifying and hopefully temporary case of ADHD known as Pre-Vacation Attention-Deficit Disorder (PVADD). This develops when a participant is about to embark on a great vacation like an all-inclusive vacation just him and his wife. Oh, it’s going to be so great, we’ll finally be able to get away from this cold weather and see some Aztec ruins. Anyway, by testing cognitive ability, I hope I’ll have enough time for that since we’re leaving on Friday, we can see the effects of this vacation on their ability to concentrate as the impending vacation gets closer and closer. I’d say I only have four and a half days left, only 32 hours of work left. Less really with the holiday parties coming up.

1. Introduction
We’ve all been there, moments away from a vacation you’ve been planning for months to a destination you’ve always wanted to go to, and you’re still stuck in your dull office job waiting to leave. In this study, we examine and try to measure the concentration of a patient suffering a severe case of this phenomenon code named Alex. They absolutely can’t wait to set up that out of office reply. It’s going to say “I’m away from the office right now. If there’s an emergency, please call me at 911” There are no emergencies in academia, why do people keep trying to call me when I leave?
2. Background
Our subject Alex is a professor and researcher at Cranberry-Lemon University, and we’ll leave it there so you can’t make any connections back to us. He has in the past been diagnosed with a mild case of ADHD. However, in the past month or so has begun to lose focus in the lab and make more mistakes. Blewing off emails, showing up late, work filled with typos He’s a real mess. He keeps talking about this amazing Azure Horizon Cruise out into the Caribbean, this thing’s going to have an infinity pool, an amazing gym, a full spa with three different types of saunas [1], he’s finally going to be able to read past chapter 2 of that book he just hasn’t been able to find the time to read.
So anyway, we’ll be able to measure Alex’s ability to concentrate on basic cognitive tasks across multiple days leading up to his vacation and see if as he gets worse the closer and closer to that plane ride out of here and to a short stay in Miami where he’ll take one day before getting on the boat to stay in a five-star hotel right on the beach [2]. They don’t even have that cold snap. Oh, I think I should leave work early that day so I can make my plane ride.
3. Methodology
Test one will involve stacking blocks in a specific order determined by color and number. By the end of the exercise, he will have a large pyramid. Did you know that in Mystic Sun Cove, there’s a grouping of sunken Aztec Pyramids which remains in one piece under a crystal blue lake [3]. The subject will then be graded on the time to complete the block pyramid and any mistakes they might make in the process. Apparently, the Mystic Sun Cove is a sinkhole lake and has this amazing waterfall feeding in the water. It’s over a hundred feet deep and you can see clear to the bottom [4]. I hope we have good weather the day we end up making dock at that cove, that looked like the most fun in the brochure.
4. Results
Gosh how long does this paper have to be? I’m already tired of writing it. Can’t I just get ChatGPT to write this? Ugh, I still have a few days left I might as well try and be productive. As you will see in the table below Alex’s concentration steadily deteriorated as he got closer to the vacation. He must have been thinking about all the fruity tropical drinks he would be able to sample pool side on one of the top decks [5]. Yes, results are below.

Beginning about three weeks ago, the puzzle got really difficult. This last week Alex was unable to complete the block puzzler probably because he had to write this stupid paper before he left so that it could be submitted to a conference. Alex can’t take the test this week because I’m doing this paper.
5. Discussion
As the subject got even closer to the vacation start date, he began putting more tasks off which ‘wouldn’t get finished until he got back’. It was noted during the final three weeks leading up to the vacation that Alex was constantly checking on the schedule of different cruise events on their website. It’s really difficult to plan that trip since there are really great musical performances but also some interesting speakers. But on top of that, a lot of the club rooms had Karaoke nights, board game meet ups, Casino nights, comedy shows, and some sport leagues [6]. I wonder how competitive the basketball game will be. Hopefully I can find a crew to join. I don’t wana get stuck playing shuffleboard again.
6. Conclusion
Just please get all your work done well before a big vacation and not the week before. According to this study, unless you have an amazing ability to concentrate, you’re not going to finish anything unless it’s under extreme duress. What is the word count on this thing, great over 1000 words, let’s email this sucker.
