It’s that time again: Volume 4 is almost ready, and we need some spoof ads to fill it out. It’s a competition: make a funny ad and send it to us by February 1st, we’ll publish all entries and the best five get journal hardcopies. The guidelines are written out below, interspersed with some of our favourite ads from 2023 and 2022.

Here are the guidelines:
- Use good quality images to make your ad, pixelated images look bad in the printed versions.

- Use images in the public domain (no copyright infringements). Good places to find pictures are pexels.com, pixabay.com and Wikimedia Commons.

- You can make something that looks similar to a real logo/name/brand, just make sure it’s different enough.

- You can use AI, but use real pictures wherever possible.

- We need ads in a range of sizes. These include full A4 pages, single columns (82.3 mm wide), and double column (171 mm wide), as well as ribbon-type ads like the “Shitmadzu” and “SciHub” ones below:

- Use a large font. The ads are quite small in print, so fine details are tricky to see.

- Emails your entries to goodenough.immaterial.science@gmail.com

- We’ll post the ads as they come in, competition closes 1st of February

- The best 5 entries each get a hardcopy of their choice (Vol. 1–4) posted to them.
Message us if you have any questions, happy bullshitting!
