How do you clear up the misunderstanding?

You wait for your family to respond to your impromptu technical explanation on the high pressured liquid Chromatography process you’re currently analyzing and your uncle is the first to comment.

“It kinda reminds me of that trick you can do with the paper on those straws, have I shown you that one before? It’s really cool, you bunch up the paper at one end of the straw before taking it off. Then you drop a couple drops of water on it and it shoots forward. Super neat, should try it next time you go out to eat, you might get some inspiration for this Chromatography stuff!”

Doesn’t seem like anything stuck, what do you do?
