“Do you guys have a white board around here, I think I can explain it if I have one?” you ask nervously. If you can’t explain your research to your family, how will you defend your thesis!
“No, I don’t think we do,” your dad said.
“Don’t we have one in the attic?” your mom replied.
“No we definitely don’t have one,” your dad responded.
“You should look anyway, I want to hear more about these encryption algorithms!”
So you go up to the attic and look around a bunch of dusty old boxes. Nothing looked white board shape. “I’m not seeing one,” you shouted down to hear a told-ya-so from your dad.
That’s when you leave for a nearby Walmart. You found one for fifty dollars between the sporting goods and the children’s clothing section. Only in the desolately empty fluorescent lit school supply aisle did you begin questioning your own sanity. Why were you here, what was so important about explaining your work to everyone. This was insane, you can’t buy a white board for your parents house just to diagram out your own work. You decide to buy some wine to save face. Everyone was looking kind of low. What do you do?
